With the increasing of demand for electric vehicles comes the need for protection against Lithium-ion batteries.
Lithium-ion batteries can catch fire or explode due to thermal runaway. This occurs when the battery overheats, meaning it generates heat faster than it can dissipate.
Our pools are designed to ensure the effective extinguishing of EV fires while also blocking further damage in case of such an incident. With a rectangular shape that surrounds the vehicle, sides made of stainless steel or watertight fabric fixed on the floor, our system utilizes a controlled amount of water. The built-in level switches prevent water overflow. After the Lithium-Ion battery is fully cooled down the used water needs to be collected in a tank and treated as hazardous waste due to its toxic elements.
